You want to know what you are buying before selecting a package.
One-time fixes, ongoing management and wider website work have different scope and dependencies.
Establish the issue and its history before purchasing; a package price is not a guarantee of ranking or approval.
We can discuss the relevant findings and a suitable service scope. The guide is general information; decisions start with your actual profile, website and business records.

A typical monthly plan includes profile accuracy checks, monthly posts and offers, fresh photo uploads, review monitoring and responses, Q&A monitoring, holiday and special-hours updates, insight reporting (calls, direction requests, website clicks) and a monthly strategy note in plain English.
Yes. The profile itself is free, and much of the work — categories, services, photos, posts, review responses — is simply regular attention. An agency buys speed, prioritization and consistency, not access to something you can't do. Our profile optimization guide covers the full DIY process.
There is no guaranteed timeline, and anyone giving you one is selling something else. The practical approach: track profile metrics — calls, direction requests, website clicks — over several months of consistent activity, and judge the work on that measured data.
Long lock-in contracts are a common red flag in cheap offers. Month-to-month or short initial terms are the healthier pattern: the provider keeps you with results, not paperwork. Also confirm in writing that you keep full ownership of the profile and all assets if you cancel.

The Google Business Profile itself is free — you are paying for labor, judgment and consistency, not for access to a tool. Ranges vary widely between providers, and California's competitive metro markets (Los Angeles, San Diego, the Bay Area) tend to sit at the higher end. Below are typical brackets we see quoted in the US market. These are observed ranges, not our prices: we quote our own work after a free audit, because the right number depends on your profile's actual condition.
| Published service | USD price | Scope to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Verification assistance | $209 one-time | Support with methods Google offers to your real business; approval is not guaranteed. |
| New listing setup | $229 one-time | Eligible business details, categories, services and verification assistance. |
| Reinstatement assistance | $300 one-time | Policy audit, corrections and appeal preparation; Google decides the outcome. |
| Silver / Gold / Platinum | $100 / $150 / $200 monthly | Compare the complete plan cards below. Website and multi-location work need a separate written scope. |
Treat any number outside these brackets as a prompt for questions, not a verdict. A $99/month offer and a $4,000/month offer can both be legitimate in the right context — but the $99 one almost always strips out the parts of the work that actually matter (review systems, real photos, genuine content), and the $4,000 one had better show you exactly what the extra money buys.
Most businesses do not need both at full strength, and knowing which one you need saves real money. A one-time GMB optimization is a rebuild: categories corrected, services written properly, descriptions rewritten, attributes set, hours verified, a photo library uploaded, and a review request system installed. After that, the profile is correct — and staying correct is a maintenance job, not a project.
The five variables that move the number:
Each location is a full profile to maintain — its own photos, hours, reviews and Q&A. Multi-location quotes are usually per-location, with a modest discount at volume.
Ranking in "plumber Los Angeles" and "plumber Fresno" are different jobs. Competitive California metros demand more content, more reviews and more reporting effort.
Installing a review request flow, writing professional responses to every review, and escalating fraudulent ones is labor-intensive — and it is the part most cheap plans quietly skip.
Monthly posts, offers, event updates and fresh photo uploads written for humans take time. Plans that "include unlimited posts" but deliver keyword dumps are a warning sign.
Measured-data reporting — calls, direction requests, website clicks from your own profile insights, separated from third-party estimates — plus a monthly strategy note. Thin reporting usually means thin work.
Some plans bundle citation cleanup and basic website work — useful, but it should be itemized, not a black box.
A fair monthly plan should let you point at any item below and ask "did this happen?" If a provider cannot show you the work, the work did not happen. Use this as a checklist against any quote you receive:
Notice what is not on the list: guaranteed rankings, purchased reviews, and keyword-stuffed business names. Those are not management — they are guideline violations that put the profile at risk. Read more about professional Google Business Profile management and what compliant work actually looks like.
The honest version: much of profile management is regular attention, and you can do it yourself. An agency buys speed, prioritization and consistency — especially useful when the work keeps sliding to the bottom of your list.
| Area | Hiring an agency | Doing it yourself |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Our published plans: $100, $150 or $200 monthly. Custom scope quoted separately. | $0 — the profile itself is free |
| Initial accuracy | Categories, services and attributes done right the first time | Common errors (wrong primary category, empty services) persist |
| Consistency | Monthly posts, photos and reviews happen on schedule | Usually slips after the first month |
| Review responses | Every review answered professionally, usually within days | Often unanswered — a visible trust gap |
| Time required | Under an hour of your time per month | 2–4 hours per month of your own time |
| Risk of errors | Guideline-compliant, reviewed work | Easy to trip a suspension rule (keyword-stuffed name, wrong address) |
| Control | You keep ownership and full access | You keep ownership and full access |
If you go the DIY route, our Google Business Profile optimization guide walks through the whole process step by step — it was written so owners can do the work themselves.
Low prices are not the problem; the shortcuts behind them are. Walk away from any provider that does any of the following:
No one controls local results. A guaranteed position is a promise no one can keep.
Review packages, incentivized reviews and generated reviews get detected and removed — and can downgrade the profile.
"Joe's Plumbing | Best Plumber Los Angeles" is a guideline violation and a common suspension trigger.
Twelve-month terms with penalties for leaving protect the provider, not you. Month-to-month or short terms are the healthy pattern.
If the monthly report is impression counts and vague "rank improved" claims, ask to see calls, clicks and the actual work delivered.
Profiles in cities you do not serve, virtual-office addresses and unexplained proprietary tactics are suspension risk dressed up as strategy.
Get these answers in writing before you sign anything. A good provider answers them easily; a bad one deflects.
Our audit tool scores your profile against the checklist above. It takes two minutes, and it tells you whether you need a rebuild, monthly management — or nothing yet.
